As we gear up for this year’s Mudcat Festival, our dedicated committee has been working behind the scenes for months to bring you another unforgettable celebration. From the Kidz Derby to the Car Show to the ever-popular Kids Zone—there’s so much to look forward to.
But there’s one tradition that holds a special place in all our hearts…
The Fireworks on the Grand.
It’s the grand finale we all wait for—the oohs and ahhs, the reflections on the water, the feeling of togetherness it brings. It’s iconic. It’s magical. And… it’s also expensive.
Each year, the fireworks cost between $32,000 and $40,000, including transportation, safety measures, setup, and execution. While it may not be the “feel-good” sponsorship like the Kids Zone or Derby, it is the one that ties everything together in a big, beautiful bang.
We’ve realized we need to do a better job of sharing just how much effort (and money) goes into creating that unforgettable moment on the river. So this year, we’re doing things a little differently—and we’re asking for your help.
Introducing: The Fireworks Fund
We’re launching a year-round fundraising campaign to support the fireworks show—and you’ll be seeing some fun ways to get involved!
A Murder Mystery Fundraiser Dinner is coming up soon, featuring the talented folks at Dunnville Community Theatre (shoutout to Rebecca Booth, our Chamber President and the Theatre for helping make that happen!). MORE INFORMATION HERE!
Donation jars will be popping up at local Chamber member businesses—yes, just like the good ol’ days! This idea came straight from community feedback, and we love that it gives everyone a chance to chip in, even a little at a time.
Online updates will be posted quarterly on our website so you can track the progress of the Fireworks Fund and see your support in action.

You choose how you want to help—whether it’s $5 or $500, we are truly grateful for every bit of support. Every dollar brings us closer to lighting up the sky together.
How You Can Help
Local businesses: Consider sponsoring the festival! We have flexible sponsorship packages, and if your chosen area (like the Car Show) raises more than needed, we’ll reallocate the extra funds to areas like the fireworks to keep everything running smoothly. It’s all about teamwork, not just one event—it takes the full festival to make the magic happen!
Community members: Every bit helps—whether it’s tossing your change in a jar, attending a fundraiser, clicking that donate button, or simply spreading the word.
