Free Family Movie Night at the Mudcat Festival

There’s a moment—just as the sun dips behind the trees in Central Park, the sky turning shades of soft lavender and gold—when it hits you: summer has arrived in Dunnville.

It’s not marked by a date on the calendar or the first hot day. It’s this moment. The one where kids run barefoot on the grass with glowing bracelets, the smell of buttery popcorn floats through the air, and families gather under the open sky with lawn chairs, blankets, and just a little bit of childhood magic.

Family Movie Night isn’t just an event—it’s a feeling. It’s the laughter of your child as they watch silly animated pirates on the big screen (The Pirates! Band of Misfits this year!). It’s that handful of popcorn, the slow sip of a cold lemonade, and the way your little one leans against you halfway through the movie because it’s getting just cool enough for a cuddle.

You glance around and see neighbours chatting, kids trading glowsticks, grandparents smiling. You realize you’re not just watching a movie—you’re making a memory. One that your kids might talk about next summer, or the one after that.

These moments are free—no admission, no ticket, no rush. Just a couple of hours under the stars. And they’re brought to life by a community that cares: sponsors, volunteers, and businesses who believe in keeping childhood fun alive and accessible for everyone.

This is the kickoff to what we like to call the Dunnville Days of Summer. And this night? It’s when it begins.

So pack your blanket, bring your people, and come early for the artisan vendors and food trucks. Then settle in and let the magic happen.

We’ll see you at Central Park on Friday, June 13th — at dusk.
Because summer starts here.
