DUNNVILLE, ON — On Friday, May 9th, a fresh chapter of healing and hope officially opened in Dunnville as Arms Open Counselling celebrated the grand opening of its newest location at 214 Chestnut Street. Hosted in partnership with Steady Point Osteo, the ribbon-cutting ceremony drew community leaders, local partners, and residents to mark the arrival of a much-needed mental health service in the region.
The Dunnville Chamber of Commerce, was honoured to be invited to host a ribbon cutting, with opening remarks from Chamber President Rebecca Booth, along with Rob Shirton, Deputy Mayor Shelley Ann, and representatives from MPP Bobbi Ann Brady’s office—all underscoring the importance of mental health care access in rural communities.
The timing was fitting. As the event took place during Mental Health Week 2025, it reinforced the national call to action: to normalize seeking help, reduce stigma, and build stronger, more resilient communities through open dialogue and professional support.
Founder Angela Kingma and the team at Arms Open Counselling chose Dunnville with clear purpose. “We saw a real need here,” Kingma shared. “This community deserves compassionate, accessible care—delivered close to home.”
With existing locations in Binbrook, Smithville, Beamsville, and across Ontario through virtual sessions, the practice brings a robust team of skilled therapists trained to support clients dealing with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, grief, burnout, relationship challenges, and more.
